On Wednesday the 10th of February, Bustan alongside its friend and the citizens of Quasr Al-Sir have planted a "Bustan", an Orchard of trees at the local kindergarten to commemorate Tu Bishvat, the Jewish holiday of trees. The event was attended by many of the villagers, amongst them the elders of the village, the local primary school children as well as the kindergarten's toddlers. Olive trees were planted, pomegranates, figs and almonds - the traditional Bustan trees of the region.
The planting of trees strengthens the bond between man and land, as well as the brotherhood of the region's peoples. In this special day, Jews and Bedouins promoted kinship, peace, and the love of nature.
